Public Open House Invitation

by Broadway 360 on December 15, 2011

An open house will be held:

Thursday, January 19, 2012
Location:  Cosmo Seniors Centre
(614 11th Street East)
5:30-8:30PM

The Broadway 360° Steering Committee invites you to the Broadway 360° Land Use Implementation Open House to learn more about a proposal for a new B5B Commercial Zoning District and Architectural Control District (ACD) for the Broadway Commercial Area.

Properties in the Broadway Commercial Area that are currently zoned B5 – Inner-City Commercial Corridor are proposed to be rezoned to the new B5B Commercial Zoning District, a zoning district designed exclusively for the Broadway Commercial Area.  All future development at any property rezoned to B5B would be subject to architectural controls under a proposed Architectural Control District for the area.  The proposal is the first phase of implementing the land use-related recommendations of the Broadway 360° Development Plan.

The evening is a ‘Come and Go’ event with a presentation that will be repeated at two separate times, followed by question and answer sessions, and opportunities to view displays outlining the proposed changes.  Steering Committee members will be on hand to discuss how the proposed changes will impact future development along Broadway Avenue.

5:30 p.m. – Doors open
6:00 p.m. – Presentation #1
6:30 p.m. – Question & Answer #1
7:30 p.m. – Presentation #2 (repeat of #1)
8:00 p.m. – Question & Answer #2

Drafted in 2009, the Broadway 360° Development Plan was created to help guide future public and private investments and development in the Broadway area.  The Broadway 360° Steering Committee is made up of a number of stakeholders; including local residents, business and property owners, developers, and representatives from the Nutana Community Association, Broadway Business Improvement District, and the City of Saskatoon.

Please mark your calendars and join us on January 19th to learn more.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Technical Workshop

A Technical Workshop will be held to provide a more in-depth discussion on the implications of the proposed changes to land use and building form.  It is intended for Broadway area property and business owners, developers, realtors, and anyone else interested in the technical details of the proposed zoning and architectural control district.
